Living Tamil LitFest

Living Tamil LitFest brings Tamil writing beyond India and into dialogue with a global audience. Presented annually by Living Tamil, the festival gathers Tamil and non-Tamil writers, poets, translators, editors and publishers for two days of discussion on contemporary Tamil literature and its life in translation. The festival is independently funded and organised by a community of readers and literary enthusiasts.

Each edition travels across the world and takes place in a different city, extending the conversation to diaspora readers, especially the next generation and English-language audiences discovering Tamil literature for the first time. The event is led and coordinated by young literary enthusiasts. Every session is recorded, written up and permanently archived, ensuring that each festival leaves behind a lasting record rather than only a memory.
